Frequently Asked Questions
What format are the ISO20000 templates in?
The templates consist of items created using Microsoft Office and are delivered in 97/2003 format so that they can be opened and edited by Word/Excel/Powerpoint 97 or later, including 2003 and 2007/10.
How will they be delivered?
Once your order is submitted and accepted you will receive an email that contains a link to a secure site where you will be able to download a zip file containing the templates. This means you will need a copy of Winzip or similar to access them.
The templates have been developed in the UK - can they be used in other countries?
ISO20000 was developed from a standard originally created in the UK (known as BS15000) so in many ways the UK may be considered the "home" of ISO20000. However today ISO20000 is a truly international standard and the individual auditors that perform certification audits in the UK work in many countries so we can be confident that the templates are equally applicable worldwide. We currently have customers using the templates in many countries including the USA, China, India, Russia, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Dubai.
Why will the ISO20000 templates save me time?
The templates will save you time because some of the contents are fairly standard and won't need to be altered. They will also save you time because the format of the documents and spreadsheets you will need to complete is already defined. This means you can concentrate on the contents without worrying too much about the structure.
How much customisation will I need to do to fit my organisation?
To get the most out of implementing ISO20000 you will need to spend some time making the documents your own and reflecting your own specific
This is unavoidable and the purpose of the ISO20000 templates is to guide you through this essential process.
How often do you produce updates?
We are constantly refining and updating the templates based on feedback from customers and auditors and as part of our work as qualified ISO/IEC 20000 consultants. In order to keep the update process as manageable as possible for us and our customers, we generally issue an update package twice a year, together with details of what has been updated within the template set.
